Day 1: Windhoek to Rehoboth (100 km)
Reception of the rental vehicle 4 x 4 and refueling.
Departure for Rehoboth at 4 pm.
Accommodations at Lake Oanob Resort by camping, or cottage (otpion). Meals on your own. This tourist complex, about 6000 ha, is spread around a large lake where many antelopes come to drink.

Days 2 and 3: from Rehoboth to Mariental (170 km)
Day 2: Departure at 7:30 a.m.
Visit the Hardap Dam and drive in the Hardap Game Park; bird and wildlife watching.
Day 3: Hiking in the Kalahari; free guided activities offered by our host.
Accommodation in Bagatelle Kalahari Campsite in camping, or Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch (otpion). Meals on your own.

Days 4, 5, 6: from Mariental to Koës (330 km)
Day 4: Departure at 7:30 a.m.
Drive to Koës on the slopes of the Kalahari.
Day 5: 4 x 4 hike in the red dunes of Kalahari Savannah. A good command of the 4 x 4 is essential for this 270 km excursion.
Day 6: rest and hiking in the property to meet wildlife.
Accommodation at Terra Rouge Guest Farm in camping, or cottage (option). Meals on your own.

OR , for those who prefer animal watching to staying at Terra Rouge.
Days 4, 5, 6: From Mariental to Transfrontier Park (370 km)
Located on the border between Namibia, South Africa and Botswana, the park is home to a large population of antelopes, many birds and mammals, and reptiles.
Large predatory mammals include lions, cheetahs, leopards, brown hyenas and spotted hyenas.

Day 7: Koës – Tses (240 km)
Check out at 7:30.
Drive to Mount Brukkaros.
Hike by car on the stony slope on the side of the mountain, if the trail allows it, then hike to the edge of the crater (7 km A/ R).
Bivouac or basic accommodation in Tses. Meals on your own.

Day 8: Tses – Keetmanshoop (158 km)
Departure at 8:00.
Drive to Mesosaurus Fossil Camp.
Guided tour of the Quiver Tree Forest and mesosaurus fossils discovered in the property by Giel Steenkamp who will be happy to tell us about it.
Accommodation at Mesosaurus Fossil Camp in camping, or in a chalet (option). Meals on your own.

Days 9 and 10: Keetmanshoop – Ai-Ais Richtersveld Transfrontier Park (200 km)
Day 9: Departure at 8:00 a.m.
Drive with stop for a visit to the small distillery Naute Kristall Distillery. Free tasting and lunch.
Short visit of the Naute dam.
We will continue our journey by passing in the Gondwana Canyon Park with playful stop at Roadhouse.
Day 10: departure at 7 am for Ai-Ais Richtersveld Park.
Drive and hike along the Fish River Canyon.
Accommodation at Gondwana Canyon Village, cottage; meals on your own.

Day 11: Transfrontier Park Ai-Ais Richtersveld – Rosh-Pinah (200 km)
Drive on the Namibian bank of the Orange River.
We will cross fabulous landscapes where some mines of precious stones have been established, well guarded.
We will follow the banks of the Orange River and its vineyards, observe birds, baboons …
Accommodation at Four Seasons Lodge in Rosh-Pinah. Meals on your own.

Day 12 : Rosh-Pinah (300 km)
Départure at 8 h : Drive by the fast road.
Visit to the ghost town of Kolmanskop. Walk in the town of Luderitz.
Accommodation at The Cormorant House, self-catering meals.

Days 13 and 14: Luderitz – Aus (123 km)
Day 13: Departure at 9:00 a.m.
Drive by fast road with stop at the water point Garub to observe the wild horses of the desert.
Hiking discovery, rest, swimming pool.
Day 14: Departure at 8 am.
Morning hike in the site of Klein- Aus Vista.
Accommodation in a chalet, in a sumptuous natural setting at Klein-Aus Vista – Nest Eagle. Meals on your own.

Day 15: Aus – The NamibRand Conservation Foundation (250 km)
Drive along the Naukluft Desert tracks through majestic landscapes.
Hiking in the reserve, free guided activities offered by the site managers.
Accommodation at the NamibRand Family Hideout in campsites or B&B (optional). Meals on your own.

Days 16 and 17: NamibRand – Solitaire
Day 16: Departure at 8 a.m.
Drive to Sossusvlei.
Hikes in the red dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei; dune walks and climbs; at the end of the day short hike in Sesriem Canyon.
Drive to Solitaire, stopping off at the quaint village of Solitaire.
Day 17: Departure at 8.30 a.m. for a hike in Naukluft National Park.
Rest, swim and walk around the lodge grounds. A climb up the rocky hill next to the lodge is well worthwhile, as the view is impressive. Bikes can be hired to explore the surrounding countryside.
Accommodation at Barkhan Dune Retreat lodge, in chalets; half board.

Day 18: Solitaire – Windhoek (200 km)
Departure at 7:30 am.
Return the car and take stock of the situation.
End of our adventure in southern Namibia, with our heads full of images and extraordinary scenes to tell.
