Namibie pays de contraste et de diversité

Namibia is one of the countries of southern Africa, bordered by Angola to the north, Zambia to the northeast, Zimbabwe and Botswana to the east, South Africa to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Its 825,615 km² territory is dominated by arid landscapes, notably the Namib Desert to the west and the Kalahari Desert to the east.

With a population of around 2.5 million, Namibia is the least populated country in Africa and the second least populated in the world. The majority of the population live in the north-central region of the country, where conditions are more favorable. The Owambos form the majority ethnic group, followed by other communities such as the Hereros, Nama, Damaras and San.

You’ll love the silence of the desert

Namibia is an invitation to discover its geological wealth, which bears witness to some 2 billion years of history, its infinite desert landscapes where vegetation is rare, and its omnipresent wildlife. You’ll be seduced by the splendor of this land of contrasts and diversity in every respect.

The natural parks represent around 17% of Namibia’s territory, and most of them are sites of prime importance from both a geological and biological point of view, with extraordinary endemic flora and fauna. The primary function of these natural parks is to conserve biodiversity and try to keep intact the ecosystems that have developed there.

You’ll love the silence of the desert and the sunsets. Hiking will give you a more intimate view of the country. You’ll be surprised by the warmth and friendliness of the Namibian people.
